Praise Music

Over a decade ago I took some sabbatical time to produce this compilation of original compositions on cassette tape. Thinking back to that six day marathon brings a smile to my face as I remember the adventure of “anaerobic recording”. Paul Dobies had transformed his son’s room into a recording studio for this project, with five vocalists crammed into a converted closet--made both soundproof and very compact by panels of foam rubber stapled to the walls. We enthusiastically worked to get each track right on the first take, because the air in that small place was in short supply!. Paul was the talented and encouraging engineer who recorded this work and added voice and instrumental gifts, as well. My wife, Cindy, brought her beautiful vocals to the mix, matched by the soaring flute work of Greg Bishop. Our good friends Dave and Karen Maurer contributed their voices, great sense of humor, and wondrous spirits. We laughed and sang and prayed and ate and had a blast recording this music. The original cassettes are still available, as well as a recently produced CD or digital download (mp3). May it encourage your heart and help express your soul’s devotion to Christ.

Here is one of the fruits of a recent sabbatical! I digitally remastered the cassette, so that people who no longer own a cassette player could listen to these songs. You could either order the physical CD or purchase the download. If you buy the download, I will send you a link so that you can download the mp3 files--as separate tracks or in a single large "zip" file. (This is over 35 MB. So if you don't have high speed internet access you might want to either order the CD or decide to have a nice long cup of tea while you wait for the files to download :)
